16mm Film Transfer

I use a MovieStuff Workprinter

to do a full digital, frame by frame transfer of 16mm film. I have been doing film transfer for over 10 years, starting at a company in Spokane using the old "shoot it on a screen and video tape it", I think they still do it the same way. When I started on my own I looked for the most advanced technology with the highest quality final product. This is it.

I do far more than most transfer companies:

  • The film is first cleaned and conditioned to prevent breakage of the film during transfer.
  • Your film is scanned into the computer one frame at a time. This totally eliminates the 'strobe effect' that is always so noticeable on 'video taped film transfers'.
  • The computer converts the frames to video.
  • I then edit your film to remove all 'flashes' and splices.
  • Over exposed sections are lightened and under exposed sections are darkened. This can make the picture a little grainy but easier to see.
  • Titles and chapters are added and the first DVD is included.
